Three weeks ago, the women’s Barcelona soccer team broke the world record for attendance when they played Real Madrid at Camp Nou, and hope to do it again.

When the Barcelona women’s soccer team played Real Madrid in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, they sold out the Camp Nou stadium and had a record attendance of 91,553 fans.

Not long after, the tickets for the first leg of the semifinal match against Wolfsburg sold out completely, too. It took just over 24 hours for tickets to be on sale before they were gone. The teams meet today, Friday, April 22 at 12:45 p.m. ET at Camp Nou in Barcelona.

Barcelona currently hold the UEFA Women’s Champions League title and are looking to complete their quadruple. This will be the fourth time they meet Wolfsburg in the competition. The German side has won their last three Champions League games against Barcelona, though and the most recent victory was in 2020.

Barca forward Caroline Graham Hansen is hoping to recreate the “special” atmosphere they had at the Real Madrid game.

“It’s a good sign that everyone who was there had a good time, had a lot of fun, and enjoyed the experience a lot. I trust that everyone wants to have this feeling again and because of that they will return. And that’s why Camp Nou will be sold out again,” said Hansen.

Camp Nou’s is the largest stadium in Europe with a capacity of 99,354.
