Bayern Munich have returned to Germany after their tour of Asia, but they still have important matters to address. One of the most critical issues is the future of Alphonso Davies. Despite offering the left-back a substantial renewal deal of around €14 million net per season, Davies has yet to commit to the Bavarian club.

Davies’ representatives are aware that Real Madrid consider him a potential target, but they also know his dream of playing for the Spanish giants will have to wait until 2025. Real Madrid are unwilling to meet Bayern’s high financial demands of €50 million for a player who will be free in a year, setting a deadline for 2025.

Will Real Madrid sign Alphonso Davies?

Davies is still on vacation after playing in the Copa América with Canada and has not shown any signs of activity with Bayern. According to German journalist Maximilian Koch, Bayern have decided to change their strategy regarding Davies. The club have presented their offer, and now the decision rests with the Canadian player. Upon returning from vacation, Davies must choose whether to accept the offer, though he remains hesitant.

Bayern will not make any further counter-offers and will put Davies up for sale to the highest bidder. Uli Hoeness, Honorary President of the Bavarian club, confirmed weeks ago that they will not offer Davies more money but initially ruled out a summer exit. Now, the German press, citing internal Bayern sources, indicates a potential August exit for Davies. Bayern aim to sell him to avoid losing him for free in the summer of 2025.

Bayern have so far spent €130 million on signings, including Palhinha, Olise, and Ito, and are looking to raise funds to support the squad renewal under Vincent Kompany. They want to return to winning ways after a title-less season for the first time since 2012.

While Bayern’s €50 million asking price for Davies may be too high for interested clubs, they will consider offers if he continues to refuse the renewal. Ultimately, Davies controls his own future. Despite Bayern’s intention to sell, the purchasing club must reach an agreement with the defender. Currently, Davies is only interested in joining Real Madrid, whether now or in 2025.
