Vinicius had to endure yesterday, once again, racist insults and gestures in a football stadium, this time at the Sánchez Pizjuán. The incident occurred during Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw against Sevilla, after a brawl that broke out during the final minutes of the match, when the Brazilian wanted to collect the ball quickly to take a corner, but the Sevilla players prevented him from doing so, leading to a small altercation that was swiftly ended.

However, some Sevilla fans were seen making monkey gestures towards Vinicius as well as the typical noise that accompanies these depressing images that are unfortunately still seen at some Spanish football stadiums.

‘Always with you, brother’

Bellingham raced to show all his support for his teammate and, on his Instagram account, he uploaded Vinicius’ publication from yesterday in which he thanks Sevilla for how quickly they acted to identify one of the fans who made those gestures to eject them from the stadium and cancel their membership.

The English player shared the post and added the following phrase: “Always with you, brother” accompanied by a white heart: the dressing room backs their teammate.

Vinicius Junior suffers racism... again

Sadly, this is not the first time that Vinicius has had to experience these sickening situations on a football pitch. Last year he was the victim of racist abuse in Valencia’s Mestalla stadium, where he ended up being sent off. He has also suffered racism at Mallorca, Atlético de Madrid and Barcelona.

Bellingham has not only shown that he has a great relationship with his teammate and fully supports Vini after experiencing a deeply depressing situation at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, but also that the young man is not alone in the fight to eradicate these horrible attitudes in Spanish society.
