The fever for Enzo Fernández has only just begun. After his great showing at the 2022 World Cup, which came after his impressive first half of the season with Benfica, Europe’a elite clubs are knocking on his door. Liverpool have turned to the Argentine after Jude Bellingham, their number one choice, appears to have given his priority to Real Madrid. The English team is desperate to find a midfielder for the future and reports are that they already have an agreement with the Argentine footballer.

Enzo to Anfield?

The Portuguese newspaper Record reports that Benfica have already rejected the first offer for their footballer. Liverpool have been said to have offered around 100 million for the midfielder, but the Portuguese club is holding out for the 120 million stated in the release clause. They want to get the most possible out of its player, knowing that after Bellingham, he is arguably the most in-demand midfielder of the moment.

The president of River Plate has also made it clear that his club is in line for a payday if a big-money move goes through.

“We sold 75% for 18 million euros, adding 38 that would leave the other 25% if they sell him for 120, we would be there speaking of close to 50 million, which exceeds the operation of Julián Álvarez, which was the highest in the history of Argentina.

“Yes, we are happy, there is a lot that can be done with that money, we still have a lot of infrastructure work to do. It is an operation that is going to help us a lot,” he told TycSport.
