Boca waits on Benedetto: forward set to miss end of the season
Pipa was injured and everything points to it being a tear. The club is yet to issue an official medical report.
Boca were victorious against Gimnasia in La Plata, a result which has left them as the solitary leader in the championship. However, the team are already focused on what is to come and have fully turned their attention to the upcoming clash against Independiente.
The only bad news at this time is that striker Darío Benedetto had to leave the game against Lobo due to discomfort in his left calf; early suspicions indicates that the injury is a tear.
“I have torn it,” affirmed the striker as soon as he felt the pain and was left sat on the field of play. In the next few hours, studies will be carried out to determine the severity of the injury.
Juan Román Riquelme and all of Boca awaits him, but things seem to indicate that his presence against El Rojo depends on a miracle. Potential replacements Luis Vázquez and Gonzalo “Toro” Morales are preparing for the opportunity of their lives: becoming a champion in the Bombonera.
