Brenden Aaronson is starting to make Leeds United fans forget about Raphinha, who signed for FC Barcelona this summer, with his brilliant performances. The United States international had an excellent pre-season with the Whites and in the final friendly against Cagliari supplied three assists in a 6-2 win.

Aaronson had another breakout performance

Aaronson made his debut in the Premier League on Saturday and helped Leeds United defeat Wolves 2-1 in their season opener. The 21-year-old made his first start in England’s top tier and made his presence felt for the team managed by Jesse Marsch from the beginning of the match.

The Philadelphia Union product was the best player for Leeds United and participated in the two goals that they scored at Elland Road to win the three points. Aaronson’s high pressure in the 24th minute helped Rodrigo score to tie the game and in the 74th minute he participated in the second goal that gave the Whites the victory.

At first it seemed that Aaronson had scored the game winning goal but it was Wolves defender Rayan Aït Nouri who pushed the ball into his own net. The American had a brilliant performance and Marsch decided to replace him in the 84th minute, the player receiving a standing ovation at Elland Road.
