In the short term, the USMNT take on Grenada on Saturday March 25 before playing El Salvador on the following Tuesday. On Thursday evening, the federation announced that Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic would have the captain’s armband for at least the first of those clashes.

The U.S. team is striving to qualify for the Concacaf Nations League Final Four, and they have two matches left in Group D to achieve their goal. At present, they are in second place with four points, one point behind El Salvador.
