Carlos Vela wanted by LaLiga side Real Sociedad

The Mexican has been linked with plenty of moves away from LAFC, with his former team the latest on the list.

Carlos Vela’s reputation shot upwards drastically at Real Sociedad, and now the LaLiga team are said to be looking at the winger to reinforce their squad for the second half of the season.

However, a potential deal may be complicated since the Mexican has plenty of more lucrative offers that are, understandably in terms of finances, more attractive for the player.

The deal is incredibly complicated

According to Jon Viñambres, there have been negotiations between both parties, but economic differences are what may slow down the operation: the former MLS player, simply put, has more money on the table from other clubs.

Also, it appears that Real Sociedad would have to let Frenchman Mohamed Ali Cho leave the club in order to be able to sign the Mexican.

Conversations confirmed between Vela and La Real

There are conversations between the Mexican player and Real Sociedad, but the operation is very difficult, as of course there are better economic offers. A point in favour: his family.” read the message posted on social media.

It should be noted that one of the offers that Vela has is from Cruz Azul, who are looking for him to strengthen their squad for the Clausura 2024, although negotiations are still ongoing and a deal has not been sealed as of today.

What is Carlos Vela’s record with Real Sociedad?

During his time at Real Sociedad, Vela played a total of 250 games in which he scored 73 goals and provided 43 assists, although he was unable to win any titles with the team. The story was completely different with LAFC, where he did win the Supporters Shield, was MLS Western Conference championship and the MLS Cup.
