“You can’t say no to Real Madrid, the best club in the world,” said Caroline Weir (Dunfermline, 6/20/1995) as she put on the Real Madrid shirt for the first time as a player. It wasn’t the first time she had worn it, because the Scotsman had already declared herself a Real Madrid fan. Her dream was to succeed at Real Madrid like her idol, Zinedine Zidane. With the five on her back and the shirt of the French legend, Caroline began to play for Madrid.

Weir’s impressive performances

Weir arrived at Real Madrid this summer like a star, as that differential player who gave a leap forward in quality for Madrid to get a little closer to the greats of Europe. And it has been so. In just six months, the Scot has become the team’s most differential player and has already surpassed all her previous individual records. With her hat-trick, the first the footballer has scored with a club, she already has 11 goals in the league, 18 in total (one more in the Copa de la Reina and six in the Champions League).

Her best record, so far and with the season over, was nine goals when she was a Hibernian player for two seasons. She also got eight goals in the league plus one in the Champions League two seasons ago with Manchester City. Having just reached January, she has already exceeded those numbers, as well as getting an incredible nine assists.

But Weir wants to make history in white and step even closer to her idol: and she on her way to doing it. With 18 goals in just six months, she is already the third top scorer in the club’s history, second only to Asllani with 23 and Esther González, with 37. At 27, she still has a long career ahead of her. So far, Weir has more than met expectations after just 6 months.
