Cassano: “I hope Mourinho never comes back to Italy, he’s a scumbag”
The former Real Madrid, Roma and Sampdoria player was not shy about expressing his views on the Portuguese head coach.
Former Italian international Antonio Cassano was guest on Christian Vieri’s ‘BoboTv’ Twitch channel this week. The former player commented on the controversies relating to the refereeing decisions which became a talking point after the Europa League final between Roma and Sevilla: “The referee got some things wrong but in the same way that players can miss goals, I think Taylor struggled with the task at hand”.
However Cassano felt that the tensions that were apparent during the game were linked to the Roma manager’s attitude: “Everything that happened afterwards began with Mourinho, he went to the carpark to protest and confront the referee. We’ve all seen the videos and that fed into Roma fans harassing Taylor and his family the next day at Budapest airport.”
The Italian once again made his opinion very clear about the work of the coach from Setubal: “He said he is going on vacation, hopefully he won’t return to Italy anymore, he’s a scumbag. In the past two years we’ve only seen fights and he has helped ruin the image of AS Roma and recent episodes have not served the club well. I hope for my people, that Mourinho heads to Portugal and never returns to train in Italy”, he declared.
