Copenhagen paying for fans’ beer
This is not the first time, by any means, that Copenhagen has participated in the top continental competition. Memories linger of those clashes with Guardiola’s Barcelona, back when the Danish team, led by Solbakken, pushed the generally accepted best team in the world to the limit. However, a period of uncertainty followed, which has now dissipated with the current and historic performance in this season’s Champions League.
Copenhagen defeated Galatasaray in the final match, securing their mathematical qualification. Throughout the group stage, they demonstrated competitiveness, even facing giants like United and the dominant team Bayern Munich. They defeated the Red Devils in Copenhagen and made things difficult for the Bavarians in both encounters.
In the decisive duel, celebrations erupted with the final whistle, and the club pleasantly surprised its fans with free beer for everyone. On to the next round, the round of 16.
