Champions League quarter finals: dates, times and fixtures

The path that leads to Istanbul is getting clearer and the destination getting closer as this week sees the first leg fixtures of the 2022-23 UEFA Champions League quarter-final games.

Reigning champions Real Madrid are in action on Wednesday as they welcome Chelsea to the Spanish capital with the ‘Blues’ in turmoil following the sacking of Graham Potter. This is a repeat of last year’s quarter-final games with this time round, the first leg will be played at the Bernabéu and the second leg at Stamford Bridge.

The quarter-final action gets underway on Tuesday night with an attractive Manchester City vs Bayern Munich clash as one of the standout ties of the round as the English club look to secure their first European Cup glory against six-time-winners Bayern. On the same night Benfica will fly the flag for Portugal as they face Inter at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.

The final game of the quartet is an all Serie A affair as Napoli travel to San Siro to face Milan and despite being runaway leaders in the Italian league, Luciano Spalletti’s side are still smarting from their 0-4 home defeat last week at the hands of the ‘rossoneri’.

Champions League semi-final dates

The semifinal matches will be held in May with the first games scheduled for 9/10 May and the return matches set to go ahead on 16/17 of the same month.

The final will be held on Saturday, June 10 at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul (Turkey).
