Chelsea add another huge loss to their disastrous situation
The Londoners posted the biggest deficit in Premier League history during the 2024-25 financial year.

It was a very successful season. Chelsea F.C. won the UEFA Conference League, finished fourth in the Premier League to secure a return to the Champions League, and lifted the Club World Cup in the summer. The London club generated more than $644 million in revenue, yet still ended the financial year with losses exceeding $345 million.
That figure surpasses the worst record in Premier League history, previously held by Manchester City F.C., who posted a deficit of just over $236 million in 2011.
The season had already begun with a $36 million fine from UEFA for breaching its financial regulations in the transfer market, a situation that European football’s governing body is continuing to monitor closely over a three-year period. According to BBC, the losses also include additional penalties, such as a Premier League sanction related to payments made to agents during the ownership of Roman Abramovich. The accounts also reflect the settlements of players such as Raheem Sterling, who was released, and Mykhailo Mudryk, who is currently serving a doping ban.
At Stamford Bridge, club officials insist they are complying with Premier League financial regulations, which allow losses of up to $138 million over a three-year period. Chelsea remain confident that this financial year’s revenue will be record-breaking and will help balance the books, particularly with the nearly $115 million earned from winning the Club World Cup last summer and the more than $104 million generated from television rights in this season’s Champions League.
If there aren’t sanctions imposed and a points deduction impending, for a £262million loss, we may as all give up. There is absolutely not a chance a figure of that nature can be PSR compliant. Chelsea also had a £155m loss in 2023.
