Once again, Santiago Giménez is back on the radar of the Premier League, and more specifically, Chelsea, who are said to be interested in signing the player.

Reports in England come from journalist Graeme Bailey, who has said that Chelsea are weighing up a move for the player in the winter market of 2024.

“Another that Chelsea, and many others, are paying real attention to is Feyenoord’s Santiago Giménez”, said the tweet.

Which players do Chelsea want to sign?

According to the source, Pochettino’s side have another forward in their sights as their main option to fill a gap up front in the squad: Brentford’s Ivan Toney. However, Giménez is also an option on their list of potential signings, and Chelsea are not a team to hide their cash.

Giménez was eyed up by lots of European teams over the last summer market, but he ended up signing a contract extension with Feyenoord. The Mexican has begun the 23/24 season in the Dutch league with a bang: in 4 games he has 5 goals for the Rotterdam club and has the fans enamoured with him and his performances.

What is Giménez’s record so far this season with Feyenoord?

As well as the league, Giménez will play for Feyenoord in the domestic cup and UEFA Champions League, where the club find themselves in Group E alongside Atlético Madrid, Lazio and Celtic.

As for the national team, the 22-year-old participated in the games against Australia (2-2) and Uzbekistan (3-3), but he did not play well, missing a penalty in the first game and overall having two quiet games.
