Chivas legend misses out again
Against Querétaro on Wednesday, Chivas will attempt to stretch its winning run - but will be without one of its major stars.

Chivas is heating up at just the right time. With four straight victories under their belt, Gabriel Milito’s squad is on the verge of the direct playoff zone. Skipping the play-in round is no longer just a dream - it’s a very real possibility. On Wednesday, El Rebaño Sagrado will look to extend their winning streak to five when they visit Querétaro.
The match, part of Matchday 14 of the Apertura 2025 tournament, will take place at Estadio La Corregidora. Guadalajara needs all three points to break into the top six of the standings. Currently sitting in eighth place with 20 points, they trail sixth-placed Pachuca by just one. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. local time (9:00 p.m. ET).
Chicharito sidelined again
Chivas will head into this match with a few notable changes to their squad. The most significant is the absence of Javier “Chicharito” Hernández. The veteran striker is once again unavailable due to precautionary physical management. Club officials stated that the decision was made to limit his workload and avoid any potential injury.
Since returning to Guadalajara, Chicharito has struggled with recurring physical issues. During the recent FIFA break, he traveled with the team for a friendly against Club América in Phoenix, Arizona, where he scored the equalizer in a 1-1 draw. He also came off the bench last Saturday against Mazatlán, but is not fit to be included this time around.
Alan Pulido and Luis Olivas also remain out of the squad. Neither player is reported to be injured, so their exclusion appears to be a tactical decision by Milito. Alan Mozo is still undergoing rehabilitation and will miss out as well. On the flip side, Cade Cowell returns to the squad after being left out against Mazatlán.
Chivas’s travelling squad:
Raúl Rangel, Oscar Whalley, Miguel Gómez, Bryan González, Diego Campillo, Gilberto Sepúlveda, Miguel Tapias, José Castillo, Richard Ledezma, Luis Romo, Daniel Aguirre, Omar Govea, Rubén González, Erick Gutiérrez, Yael Padilla, Hugo Camberos, Santiago Sandoval, Cade Cowell, Roberto Alvarado, Efraín Álvarez, Isaac Brizuela, Armando González and Teun Wilke.
