Chivas-Tigres: Liga MX Clausura final, preview and possible XI’s
After a 0-0 draw at ‘El Volcan’ on Thursday, the Estadio Akron will host the second leg of the 2023 Liga MX Clausura final.
Chivas Guadalajara and Tigres head into Sunday night’s contest at the Estadio Akron to decide the winner of the Clausura 2023 final. The contest remains wide open after Thursday’s first leg at Estadio Universitario which ended goalless.
Guadalajara are seeking their 13th domestic crown with Tigres out to bag title number eight. The last time the ‘Sacred Flock’ won a Liga MX title was against tonight’s rivals - they edged Tigres 4-3 on aggregate to win the Clausura 2017. La U meanwhile, have seven titles under their belt and were crowned champions fairly recently, winning the Clausura 2019.
Chivas start as slight favourites given their superior regular season position, home advantage and the morale injection Veljko Paunovic’s side would have gained from beating Club America at the Azteca last Sunday. The meeting between both sides in Nuevo Leon also saw Chivas record a 1-2 win in the regular season last February.

Possible Tigres XI:
