Club América’s Diego Valdés injured during Clásico Nacional
The azulcrema player was taken off during the Clásico Nacional against Chivas.
Chivas and Las Águilas played to a scoreless draw in yet another edition of the Mexican Clásico. Unfortunately for the Azulcremas, midfielder Diego Valdés fell to injury and was unable to finish the match.
As soon as the whistle blew, the Chilean national team player was one of the most active attackers on the field, and he had control of the ball on many occasions, causing Chivas to worry. The first major foul he received was in the defensive third, when ‘Oso’ González crashed into his right leg in an attempt to stop the attack building.
What injury does Diego Valdés have? How long will he be out for?
Just before the end of the match, the South American complained of pain in his leg. Not wanting to take any risks, he asked to be substituted right away. The former Santos Laguna player will undergo medical tests to judge the extent of the injury and the estimated time he will be out. As of yet, there is no news of a return.
After the departure of the Chilean player, Paraguayan Richard Sánchez was given the opportunity by coach André Jardiné and entered the field to contain the opponent attacks. In the end, the two teams shared the points and will return to official league activity after the end of the international break.
Club América will play San Luis on March 31 at the Estadio Azteca; Chivas will take on the tough task of playing league leaders Monterrey away from home on the same day.
