Coach Raúl Gutiérrez on thin ice as Cruz Azul lose again
La Máquina are second bottom in the 2023 Liga MX Clausura table with just one point from four games and the board at Cruz Azul are looking at alternatives.
Cruz Azul’s board of directors have reportedly imposed an ultimatum on head coach Raúl Gutiérrez following Saturday night’s defeat to Tigres.
According to Récord, El Potro could be living his final few days on the bench and the team’s management has apparently already lined up a replacement, in former Cruz Azul player Francisco Palencia.

Journalist Luis Castillo, assures that Palencia, who played with ‘La Maquina’ for over eight years has already been in touch with the board and is poised to take charge of the team.
