CONMEBOL does América a favor
None of Club América’s South American internationals have been called up by their countries this month.

In previous FIFA international breaks, Club América faced several absences as multiple players were called up to represent their national teams.
However, with World Cup qualifying now wrapped up in South America, the Coapa-based side haven’t been asked to release any CONMEBOL players for international duty - welcome news as they gear up for a crucial stretch of matches.
CONMEBOL stars stay in Mexico
Notably, Uruguay did not call up Sebastián Cáceres, Brian Rodríguez or Rodrigo Aguirre for this international window. Similarly, Christian Borja was left off Colombia’s roster, while Chile opted not to summon Igor Lichnovsky and Víctor Dávila.
This Saturday, América will stay active with a high-profile friendly against archrivals Chivas Guadalajara. The match, set to take place in the United States, offers fans a preview of the intensity to come. Then, in Liga MX action, América will face Cruz Azul in the much-anticipated Clásico Joven as part of Matchday 13 of the Apertura 2025 campaign.
Head coach André Jardine could well go into the Cruz Azul clash with a full squad at his disposal, with the exception of Raúl Zúñiga, who faces a spell on the sidelines with a muscle injury.

What time does América face Chivas?
The friendly between América and Chivas is scheduled for October 11 at 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT. A week later, on October 18, Las Águilas will visit Cruz Azul for their pivotal league clash in Matchday 13.
