On Saturday afternoon in Dortmund, Portugal had little trouble in sweeping Türkiye aside with their 3-0 win cementing their place as Group F winners and securing a Round of 16 game in Frankfurt on 2 July. Despite not getting on the scoresheet, the Al Nassr striker delivered a solid performance and provided the assist for Bruno Fernandes who had the simple task of sweeping the ball into an empty net for the third goal of the contest.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s assist for Fernandes was the seventh in his time playing in the European Championships and his pass not only made him the oldest assist provider in the history of the tournament, but the delivery also saw him surpassing Karel Poborsky as the highest assist provider with the Czech player on six and Ronaldo now moves to seven.

Cristiano already holds the record as Euro’s all time top scorer with 14 goals over his six tournaments and will be looking to add to this tally in Germany with Portugal next set to play Georgia in their final Group F clash before the Round of 16 game against one of the best placed third placed sides.

Cristiano’s blanks against Türkiye

Türkiye is one of the few national teams that have managed to deny Ronaldo from scoring over the years and the veteran striker will hope to retain his start in the side as Portugal face Georgia on June 26 in Gelsenkirchen.

Saturday’s performance from one of Euro 2024′s highly tipped teams was much improved from the opening game in Leipzig where they managed to bag an opening win only with a late added time goal after they struggled to breaks down a resolute Czechia defence.
