Update:

Real Madrid have announced that club captain Dani Carvajal will leave the club at the end of the season after 450 first-team appearances.

Real Madrid confirm Carvajal departure

“Dani Carvajal is a legend and a symbol of Real Madrid and its academy,” said president Florentino Pérez. “His image alongside our beloved and unforgettable Alfredo Di Stéfano laying the first stone of Real Madrid City will forever remain in the hearts of all Madridistas and in the history of our club. Carvajal has always represented the values of Real Madrid in an exemplary way. This is and always will be his home.”

From academy graduate to first-team mainstay

After spending 10 years in the Real Madrid academy, including two seasons with Real Madrid Castilla, the club’s reserve team, Carvajal joined Bayer 04 Leverkusen for one season before being brought back to the Bernabéu in the summer of 2013.

Since then, the right-back has played a central role in Madrid’s sustained success across more than a decade.

Carvajal’s trophy haul at Real Madrid

Carvajal leaves the club having won 27 trophies: six Champions Leagues, six Club World Cups, five UEFA Super Cups, four LaLiga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies and four Spanish Super Cups.

Champions League elite company

Carvajal is one of only five players to have won six European Cups or Champions League titles, all of whom played for Real Madrid. The others are Paco Gento, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Nacho Fernández.

Those names also feature prominently among the club’s most decorated players. Modric leads the way with 28 trophies, just ahead of Carvajal, while Nacho (26) completes the top three.
