Date confirmed for LaLiga EA Sports 2026/27 fixture list reveal
The dates for next season’s key derby games and both El Clasico matches will be announced at the end of the month at an event in the centre of Madrid.
June 30 is the date selected by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to hold the presentation event when the competition calendars for the 2026–2027 season will be revealed. The event heralding the start of the new season in August will take place from 7:00 p.m. at Plaza de Colón in central Madrid.
All levels of Spanish football will learn their schedules for the 26-27 campaign at the end of June. On the morning of the 30th, the RFEF will hold their traditional assembly with the fixture list announcement set for the same evening.
As was done last year, these calendars will be drawn up through an agreement among the various institutions (RFEF, LaLiga and Liga F) and the clubs with an AI assisted draw as opposed to a lottery. This system aims to prevent Real Madrid or Barcelona from playing at the same time in their city as their women’s team or reserve side and is a measure intended to maximize reach and exposure.
The event will be held at Plaza de Colón in Madrid, where Plaza Selección will be set up as the gathering place for fans to follow the Spanish national team during their participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
At present, both LaLiga and AFE (player’s union) are still negotiating the start date of the new season. LaLiga, the association chaired by Javier Tebas, wants the league season to start the weekend of August 15, postponing matches involving teams most affected by the World Cup; the players’ union argues that all teams should begin the season one week later, to treat all clubs equally.
