Diomande makes plain his desperation to seal Real Madrid deal
As he waits for his move to Real Madrid to be finalized, Yan Diomande has already started engaging with the LaLiga club’s social-media posts.
The official announcement of Yan Diomande’s move to Real Madrid is taking longer than expected. As Diario AS has been reporting, the winger is set to end up at the Bernabéu, but RB Leipzig has been slow to finalize an agreement that is expected to be completed sooner rather than later.
In the meantime, Diomande has been training on his own to avoid any risk of injury and is hopeful he will not have to travel with the German club to its preseason training camp in Austria, which begins this weekend, allowing him to fly to Madrid as soon as possible.
Diomande’s Real thumbs-up
Diomande now has his sights set solely on Real Madrid and is eager to arrive in the Spanish capital at the earliest opportunity. Over the past few hours, the Ivory Coast star has once again shown his desire to play under José Mourinho. Despite still being under contract with Leipzig, the winger liked one of Real Madrid’s most recent posts on Instagram.
Diomande had no hesitation in giving his approval to a post announcing that Madrid academy graduate Víctor Valdepeñas is to join Fiorentina. Although he does not follow Real Madrid on social media, this is already his third public nod toward the Spanish giants. Previously, he shared a TikTok video responding to criticism of whether he was good enough to play for Los Blancos, and he also liked the club’s Instagram post celebrating its victory over Leganés.
Real Madrid hopes to wrap up Diomande’s signing as quickly as possible. The winger is desperate to make the trip to Madrid and begin working under Mourinho, with the aim of integrating into the squad as soon as he can and being fully prepared for the opening LaLiga fixture against Espanyol, scheduled for August 22.
