Does the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV include Leagues Cup 2023 games?

Both MLS and Liga MX have stepped aside for the introduction of the Leagues Cup, a cross-country competition that pits American and Mexican teams against each other with the prize for the the three highest-ranking teams being qualification for the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Ahead of the MLS season, tech giants Apple struck a whopping, multi-billion dollar deal with the league in order to become the sole broadcaster on their imaginatively named Apple TV. But does their new deal include the Leagues Cup? Well, in short, yes.

Which games are included with the MLS Season Pass?

The package that brings the viewer MLS football to their screens is known as the MLS Season Pass. Included in this deal is every single MLS game during the season, which can be watched with either English or Spanish, as well as optional French commentary for Canadian teams. The production package includes, according to the MLS website, “pregame and postgame shows; club-produced match previews; and additional features highlighting the tournament’s biggest stars and many historic moments across MLS and LIGA MX clubs.”

Can I watch Inter Miami games with an MLS Season Pass?

This is where things get really juicy. Not only will the MLS Season Pass give the viewer the opportunity to watch Lionel Messi strut his stuff for Inter Miami, but MLS recently announced “enhanced productions for Inter Miami CF matches” for the upcoming tournament. Production levels are ready to be levelled up for the arrival of the Argentine, including “18 cameras, Steadicam, four super slow-motion cameras, Skycam, a drone, sideline reporters in Spanish and English, a dedicated one-hour pregame show on site with features, interviews and expert analysis, and a postgame show to wrap things up.”

As for the Leagues Cup, the unique tournament that involves a total of 47 clubs, with 18 from Liga MX and 29 from MLS, will also be included in the MLS Season Pass. That means that the viewer will be able to watch al 77 games without any interruptions and the debut of Lionel Messi can be enjoyed without any hiccups.

Can I buy an MLS Season Pass for just one club?

In short, no. MLS/Apple do not offer the season-long access for one specific club. Any paying customer, therefore, will be given access to absolutely everything that the package involves.
