Drake’s logo to replace Spotify on Barça shirt for Sunday’s Clásico
Barcelona will wear a limited edition shirt featuring Drake’s OVO Sound owl logo in El Clásico. “This doesn’t feel real but it is,” the rap artist posted on social media.
Barcelona will sport the owl logo of Drake’s OVO Sound label on their shirts instead of main sponsors Spotify when they take on Real Madrid on Sunday to mark the Canadian rapper surpassing 50 billion streams on the music platform. Drake became the first artist in history to surpass 50 billion combined streams on Spotify in January 2021. His 2018 hit “God’s Plan” has already gained over 2 billion streams on the music platform.
Barcelona, who were one of the last major clubs without a shirt sponsor, said the move was part of their efforts to bring soccer and music together. Four-times Grammy award winner Drake posted an image of the limited-edition jersey on Instagram to his more than 120 million followers. Barça go into Sunday’s game top of the table on 22 points - the same as Real Madrid but with a superior goal difference.
