The huge number of matches played with both Palmeiras and Brazil will force Endrick to take a break of more than 20 days.

The Brazilian forced himself to play in the second leg of the Paulista to help his team come back from 1-0 down in the first leg against Santos. His performance, despite the physical issues, was the difference in the game: he caused the penalty for the first goal and started the move for the second.

What injury does Endrick have?

According to ESPN, Endrick suffered an injury with the Canarinha during March’s FIFA break and will begin treatment on Monday to recover from the edema (swelling) suffered in his thigh. The player himself acknowledged his injury after the win: “I’m injured, but it didn’t affect anything. I have treated it, Palmeiras is my team and I had to do everything I could to help the club”.

How many games will Endrick miss for Palmeiras?

Palmeiras have five games coming up without the Brazilian, two in the Libertadores (Liverpool and Independiente del Valle) and three in the Brasileirão (Vitória, Internacional and Flamengo).

His injury worsened when playing the semi-finals against Novorizontino due to the fact that he was already injured after the matches against England and Spain. The future Real Madrid player underwent intensive treatment to play against Santos, but he has been forced to stop regardless.

“I spoke to Murilo, Mayke and the boys: ‘It doesn’t matter, I feel pain, I’m hurt, but brother, I’m going to play, I’m going to give my life for you and for Palmeiras.’ I’m very happy to know that I was able to help Palmeiras, especially with all my family who are there too,” said the player.

When will Endrick be fit to play?

Endrick, who is still just 17-years-old, lifted his fifth trophy with Palmeiras and was voted the best player of the final. He caused the penalty by showing everyone watching his lightning pace to sneak between the defender and the goalkeeper before creating the chance that would end in the second goal.

His return to action will almost certainly be against Cuiabá, on May 5. He is also likely to miss the derby against São Paulo on April 29. Endrick could also make his debut in the current edition of the Libertadores against Liverpool, in Uruguay, on May 9.

Once the season is over, Endrick will join 14-time European champions Real Madrid in a highly anticipated move that sees Los Blancos once again pick the potentially elite talent from the Brazilian top division to add to their already star-studded squad of players.
