With just a few hours left until the transfer market slams shut across Europe, despite having already finished their summer business, Madrid always have at least one name that is whispered throughout social media circles until the very last minute.
There are many players who are linked on a yearly basis with Madrid and are offered to the club every summer, but recently they have all ended up being overshadowed by the media force of the Mbappé soap opera.
Now, however, the latest name to appear on the scene has always generated special excitement at the Bernabéu, and it is not the first time the player has flirted with wearing a white shirt: Erling Haaland.

It is certainly a strong statement, especially if you take into account the release clause in the Norwegian’s contract: from July 2024 he can leave for a fee between €180 and €200 million.
A mind-blowing 52 goals in 53 games in his first season as a citizen is obviously impressive and at the level of a scorer who is said to be a generational player. Madrid are on the lookout, and if the signing of Mbappé becomes even more complicated, something that has always been incredibly unpredictable to judge, they would not hesitate in changing their target. The City striker, for his part, has always been seduced by the idea of wearing white and playing at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The number ‘9′ shirt is still available, and the Norwegian would fit perfectly as the attacking star of a rejuvenated Madrid side. It is a debate that will be brought up and thrown around endlessly next summer, and one that the great sides across Europe are already watching out of the corner of their eyes.
Anything can happen, especially if Mbappé continues to play cat and mouse with Florentino Pérez. The ball is is in his court, but the possibility of signing Haaland if the forward gets within reach could mean a dramatic turn of events for everyone involved.
