Both men were captured pushing each other in the tunnels of the Ciudad de los Deportes Stadium after the post-match press conference. The 44-year-old former player confronted the Tijuana coach for the derogatory comments he made in an interview with Caliente TV in December. Herrera called Alonso “a foreigner whose recent achievements including conning management at Toluca and Pachuca”. La Máquina have been playing all of their home games at the the Ciudad de los Deportes due to ongoing renovation work at the Azteca.
