He only just made it, but Gareth Bale finally paid a visit his former Real Madrid teammates in Los Angeles. The Welshman appeared for the penultimate session at UCLA before Madrid’s expedition returns to Spain this Sunday. Bale, dressed entirely in grey, arrived in the afternoon and nipped into the stadium through a side door to avoid the media and headed in to where Ancelotti was directing his charges as they look forward to the European Super Cup against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday 10 August, their first competitive game, with the LaLiga season getting underway the weekend after, with Real Madrid away to Almería on Sunday.

Bale now living in L.A.

Bale hadn’t been to see his former teammates since Real Madrid arrived in Los Angeles on July 19th, despite this being the city where he now plays and resides. He hadn’t been to see them at training, nor had he dropped into the Beverly Hills Hotel where they are staying. The situation had drawn more attention because his new teammate at LAFC, Giorgio Chiellini, had made the effort to meet up with his former colleagues from Juventus. However, once he was at UCLA, Bale appeared to be having a great time, especially with the veterans, and was seen laughing and joking with Benzema and Modric, among others.

Bale on his US adventure, one eye on Qatar

Bale is just starting his great adventure in the United States. As the latest star at Los Angeles Football Club, he made his debut on the victory over Nashville (1-2) and last Saturday in the 0-2 win against Sporting Kansas City he got his first goal in the MLS in the 83rd minute. Bale currently has two main goals: to stay in tip top form for his new club in LA, but also to prepare himself in the coming months so as to be in the best shape possible for the World Cup in Qatar, where he will be representing Wales.
