Gerard Piqué reveals who was more “insane” as a youngster: Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo
Piqué spent 13 seasons with Messi in the Barcelona first team, but also played with Ronaldo at Manchester United at the start of his career.

Gerard Piqué played alongside Lionel Messi in Barcelona’s first team for 13 seasons, but he also spent four years in the Barça youth team with the current Inter Miami superstar before heading to the Premier League for a spell with Manchester United. Given Piqué’s limited impact as a youngster at Old Trafford, it is easy to forget he also shared a dressing room with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Was Messi or Ronaldo the more promising youngster?
In a recent appearance on “The Late Run with Ochocinco” podcast, alongside former NFL star Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, Piqué was asked which of his two former teammates showed more promise as a young player. The former defender was quick to respond.
Piqué also revealed why there were question marks about whether Messi had what it takes to make it to the top of the sport, and how Ronaldo went on to become the relentless goalscoring machine we saw after his move to Real Madrid.
