Gianni Infantino to be re-elected as FIFA president
FIFA released a statement on Thursday that confirmed there was only one candidate for next year’s presidential election.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino will stand unopposed to be re-elected for a third term in the position.
The 52-year-old became head of football’s governing body when he was first elected in February 2016, succeeding Sepp Blatter.

Only one candidature was received for the presidential election in March by last night’s deadline.
Infantino set for another 4-year term after being first elected in 2016.
