Griezmann’s quiet home debut: Orlando City star shows flashes but couldn’t find the target against Nashville
The French forward played his first match at the Inter&Co Stadium, the home of his new team in Major League Soccer.
Antoine Griezmann played his first home match in Major League Soccer this Saturday, taking the field at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando for a showdown with Nashville SC. But unlike his strong debut against the San Jose Earthquakes, the French star delivered a more subdued performance in front of the home crowd.
Griezmann started once again under head coach Martín Perelman and logged the full 90 minutes. While he didn’t score or assist, he still contributed in several key areas during Orlando City’s win.
Griezmann’s numbers: solid effort, low impact
According to SofaScore, Griezmann finished the match with:
- Three total shots
- Two key passes
- Seven ball recoveries
- One accurate cross out of five attempts
- One successful dribble out of two
- Four duels won out of five
It wasn’t a standout performance, but it showed Griezmann’s willingness to stay involved, press, and contribute defensively — traits Orlando City will rely on as he settles into MLS play.
When will Griezmann return to Inter&Co Stadium?
Griezmann won’t play another MLS match at home until August 15, since Orlando City will be competing in the Leagues Cup 2026 from August 5–12.
If the Florida club advances deep into the tournament — which features both Liga MX and MLS teams — their return to league play could be pushed even further.
