Guillermo Ochoa in Serie A team of the week
The Mexican was highlighted for his performance with Salernitana.
Although Salernitana are struggling in Serie A, at the bottom of the table, on the verge of relegation, and with just two wins in the whole season, Guillermo Ochoa has made his way into Serie A’s team of the week.
The rest of the team of the week is made up of Empoli’s Sebastian Luperto, Inter Milan’s Stefan De Vrij and Fiorentina’s Michael Kayode in defence; Bologna’s Giovanni Fabbian, Empoli’s Răzvan Marin, Inter’s Davide Fratessi and Fiorentina’s Giacomo Bonaventura in midfield, and in attack, Dušan Vlahović of Juventus, Roma’s Paulo Dybala, who scored a hat-trick yesterday, and World Cup winner Lautaro Martínez.
Despite being the second-highest-conceding team in Serie A this season (53 goals conceded), Ochoa has tried to minimise the damage being done to the struggling side in Italy’s top flight. His performances have led to his inclusion in Mexico’s preliminary squad for the CONCACAF Nations League semi-final against Panama.
