Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano undergoes successful shoulder surgery
The Mexico winger had to have surgery on his shoulder and will miss the upcoming FIFA international break.
Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano has been dealing with injuries all season long and on Friday it was confirmed that he underwent successful shoulder surgery. The Mexico international will miss the last game of the 2021/22 Serie A season when Napoli goes on the road to play against Spezia on 22 May.
Lozano suffered the right shoulder injury on 2 February when the Mexico national team played against Panama during the World Cup qualifiers at Estadio Azteca. The former Pachuca player returned to Napoli and missed four consecutive league matches that month.
Lozano will not play during the FIFA international break
Lozano finished the season with six goals and six assists in 37 appearances across all competitions with the Italian side. In Serie A, Lozano started 20 matches and came on as a substitute on 10 occasions.
The 26-year-old will also miss the upcoming FIFA international break with the Mexico national team later this month. Lozano will miss a total of six games with club and country and is expected to return for preseason ahead of the start of the 2022/23 season.
