Hirving Lozano valuation drops 30% in 2022
The Mexican striker currently plying his trade at Napoli in Italy’s Serie A has seen a significant decline in his perceived transfer value across the year.
Hirving Lozano lived a 2022 full of ups and downs. The Napoli player fought throughout the calendar year with Matteo Politano for a place in the starting line-up and he failed to shine with the Mexican national team in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
According to the Transfermarkt website, the Pachuca youth product lost 30% of its valuation across the 12 months. At the beginning of the year, Chucky was valued at $40 million, 12 more than he is currently ($28m) according to the site.
Falling transfers values
Lozano’s case is not an isolated one. Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku tops the list of fallers with a loss of $45 million (from $100m in January), while Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford fell by $30m and teammates Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane by $25m.
Despite Lozano’s fall in the finance stakes, Chucky is still the second highest-valued Mexican player according to the portal. Only Edson Álvarez is above him, at 25 years old, the Ajax man sits at $35 million.
