How many Golden Globe awards and nominations does Daniel Craig have?

After a one-year hiatus with no in-person ceremony, the Golden Globes are back and will be staged on Tuesday, 10 January (2023).

Update:
Daniel Craig

After a one-year break with no in-person ceremony, the Golden Globes have returned.

While the message from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) last year was that the decision to cancel the ceremony was made because of concerns over the spread of covid-19, others point to a boycott by top actors, producers, and others involved in film and TV. Compounding the problems for the HFPA was that NBC, the network that had traditionally carried the event live, pulled out in solidarity with the boycott.

Once again, dozens of television shows, documentaries, and movies have been nominated for Golden Globes.

Daniel Craig and the Golden Globes

On 12 December 2022, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), announced the list of nominees for their 2023 awards and actor Daniel Craig was once again nominated for this year’s Global Globe Award for Best Actor in a Musical/Comedy for his role in Glass Onion (A Knives out Mystery).

The recent nomination mirrors that of 2020 when the English actor was nominated for the first part of the ‘Whodunnit’ style mystery but lost out to Taron Egerton for his role in Rocket Man.

Talking about Daniel Craig who plays the role of Detective Benoit Blanc, director Rian Johnson stated: “He’s one of the best actors today. I’ve seen Craig on the stage, his other movies, I know the range he has as an actor, that’s why I thought he could do something special. He is a great combination of a strong actor and a movie star, these are two different things but for him, it’s the full package.”

Craig is best known for playing secret agent James Bond in the Bond film series, starring in five films from 2006 to 2021. He received a nomination for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his first film as Bond, Casino Royale (2006) and also won a Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Actor in an Action Movie for Skyfall (2012) and was nominated again for the same award for Spectre (2015).
