Panama managed to secure a ticket to the 2024 Copa América after beating Costa Rica in the quarterfinals of the Concacaf Nations League.
After qualifying for the 2018 World Cup and solid showings in recent Gold Cup and Nations League competitions, the Canaleros will grace another major competition next summer as the became one of the CONCACAF nations to secure a place in the 2024 Copa América.
The team has blossomed under the command of Thomas Christiansen and now the Central Americans face another major international test at the 2024 Copa América in the United States with the tournament set to serve as a dress rehearsal for 2026 World Cup.
Panama will be in Pot 3 for the Copa América group stage draw along with Chile, Venezuela and Paraguay. The Canaleros will be pitted along with one of the top seeded teams in: Argentina, Mexico, the United States or Brazil and face equally stern opposition from Pot 2 with the like of Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru all possible rivals.

This will be the second time in Panama’s history that it participates in a Copa América with their debut also being staged in the USA as part of the Centenario Cup in 2016.
Panama struggled and failed to progress from a Group D which featured both eventual finalists in Argentina and Chile with La Roja securing the trophy after a penalty shoot-out.
