Madrid’s dominance in Europe is out of doubt, as they double the number of titles of AC Milan, the competition’s second-best team.
Although they have historically had great squads that allowed the team to compete for all the titles in most seasons, the truth is that the Spanish team has always had a winning mentality that often translated into success.
Probably the best proof of that dates back to 2014 when Real Madrid took on their city neighbors Atletico Madrid in the UCL final. Despite losing 0-1 for almost the whole game and with only a few seconds left for the final whistle, Sergio Ramos’ equalizer completely changed the game dynamics, and Real Madrid won 4-1 after extra time.
