Zlatan on Messi: “They can watch MLS again, since I left it’s only been baseball”
Zlatan Ibrahimovic was speaking in Milan at an event organised by Gazzetta and offered his thoughts on Messi moving to the United States.
Since hanging up his boots with AC Milan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has remained busy and is now opening a series of padel centres in his native Sweden and Italy.
Speaking in Milan, Zlatan who is well renowned for his inflammatory and sometime tongue-in-cheek comments, offered some thoughts on Messi playing in Major League Soccer with the Swede joking that people had moved onto watching baseball since his departure from LA Galaxy in 2019.
During the ‘Festival dello Sport’ organized by ’La Gazzetta dello Sport’, Zlatan took time to talk about many topics and upon being questioned about Lionel Messi playing in the MLS, the Swede stated: “Messi in the MLS? I’m happy for them, they can watch football again. Since I left they only watched baseball,” commented the former Swedish forward, who was a fan favourite when with LA Galaxy.

The Swedish striker ended his two-year spell in December 2019 and during his time with the Los Angeles Galaxy, Zlatan bagged 53 goals and assisted 15 times playing for one of the most decorated teams in Major League Soccer.
