Inter Miami are willing to offer Lionel Messi an equity stake in the club to convince him to join this summer, as reported by Miguel Delaney of the Independent. Messi’s preference is, however, to stay in Europe until the 2024 Copa America with the aim of winning another Champions League title.

The PSG forward has the option of signing a contract extension in Paris on what would be the same financial terms and the World Cup winner has told the Ligue 1 club that he will make a decision depending on who the next manager will be. New signings could also influence his decision to stay with Kylian Mbappé and Co.

Barcelona return for Messi?

Despite Messi being linked with a return to Camp Nou, following a disappointing few months with PSG, the report adds that Barcelona have not yet contacted Messi about a proposal and his relationship with current club president Joan Laporta isn’t as healthy as it was previously.

Messi’s father and representative Jorge has met with Laporta in the last year for what was a 20-minute meeting over plans for a tribute to the former Barcelona captain before he leaves Europe.

Inter Miami to offer Messi a stake in club

Inter Miami will reportedly offer Messi an equity stake in the club to join after his PSG contract expires this summer. The move comes after negotiations between Inter Miami and Messi, as well as MLS, who believe that the Argentinian forward would be crucial in growing the game in the United States.
