Inter Miami owner confirms the signing of Jordi Alba

After the announcements of Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets, Inter Miami are getting ready to announce another signing.

On Tuesday at the end of Inter Miami’s open training session, team owner Jorge Mas revealed that Jordi Alba is on his way to the MLS club.

“I believe that Jordi Alba has signed his contract. I know that Tata Martino is counting on him for the second Leagues Cup match,” Mas explained in an interview with TyC Sports.

Similarly in The Athletic, Mas revealed that Messi will take part in Friday’s match against Cruz Azul which will be the Argentine star’s debut with the team coached by Martino.

The owner of Inter Miami was also questioned about the situation of Luis Suárez, who in recent hours has been linked with a possible move to Inter Miami, however, he denied that there are talks with the Uruguayan or with Gremio, but did not close the door on a transfer.

“Luis Suárez is a Gremio player, he has a contract. We understand the close relationship he has with Lionel, Busquets and Alba. They played together at Barcelona. There has been a lot of talk about Luis Suárez coming to Inter Miami. We have not had direct conversations with Gremio or Suárez. I don’t know how he (Suárez) might leave Gremio, but if he does, we are free to talk to Luis and bring him to Inter Miami. That possibility would be there,” Mas explained to The Athletic.
