“It’s your f***ing fault” - Carvajal explodes after Real Madrid exit in Munich
A controversial decision in the closing stages sparks outrage, leaving players convinced the outcome slipped beyond their control.
The closing moments of Bayern Munich’s clash with Real Madrid were steeped in tension. Eduardo Camavinga’s sending-off for a second yellow card – the second for delaying play after committing a foul himself – sparked an immediate and furious reaction from Madrid’s players, who surrounded the referee to protest the decision.
The dismissal of the French midfielder, with the tie still hanging in the balance, effectively broke the game open. Minutes later, Bayern found the decisive goal that knocked Madrid out of the Champions League. The sense of injustice was clear, and several players struggled to contain their frustration.
One of the most outspoken was Dani Carvajal. The Madrid captain, who did not play a single minute, was caught on camera by Movistar addressing the referee after the incident. “It’s your f***ing fault,” he said, referring to the melee that followed the decision.
In the mixed zone, other players echoed that anger. Éder Militão described the call as unjust, Jude Bellingham said you “can’t give two yellows like that” and called it a joke, while Antonio Rüdiger chose his words carefully, admitting it was better not to speak in the heat of the moment. Camavinga himself left without making any comment.
Madrid’s players walked away visibly incensed with the officiating, convinced that the red card fundamentally altered the course of the game and proved decisive in their eventual elimination.
