James Rodríguez: “If Valencia want me, I’ll walk there and take a pay cut”
The former Real Madrid midfielder has offered himself to Valencia: “If they need someone to assist Cavani, I’m here.”
The final throes of the summer transfer market are proving very eventful at Valencia. The LaLiga club is finalising the transfer of Spain international Carlos Soler to PSG after a verbal agreement was reached by both parties on Tuesday. In addition, Los Che are working on a deal to bring Spain winger Bryan Gil back to LaLiga from Tottenham Hotspur and will keep working on that deal until the 11th hour while after adding former Napoli, PSG and Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani to Gennaro Gattuso’s squad for the 2022-23 season. A final piece of business on the agenda at Mestalla is to now find a replacement for Soler.
James keen on Cavani link-up at Valencia
Valencia have a few options they are considering and James Rodríguez seems eager to join the Gattuso revolution at Mestalla. The former Real Madrid midfielder, who currently plays for Al-Rayyan in Qatar, has openly offered himself to the Liga outfit. “If Valencia call me I will even walk from Qatar. I would take a pay cut,” the Colombia international told Spanish television show El Chiringuito, adding: “If they need someone to assist Edinson Cavani, I’ll be there.” James also fluttered his eyelashes at the club’s supporters, stating: “They are a great club with great fans.”
Valencia have yet to respond to James’ petition and the Colombian has also said he has no idea where he will playing football next week. “I still don’t know anything and there’s only a day and a half left on the market.”
