Jared Borgetti recalled with nostalgia his debut with the Mexico national team, which took place just 26 years ago. Through his social media, the now analyst posted a message regarding the anniversary of his debut with the green shirt, in which he made history by becoming one of El Tri’s all-time scorers.

Jared made his national team debut on February 5, 1997, in a friendly match against Ecuador, played at the Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California. That day, Mexico won 3-1 and Borgetti scored one of the winning goals.

The Serbian Bora Milutinovic was the first coach to summon him to El Tri.

26 years have passed since I debuted with @miseleccionmx. A day that was rather special, my dream debut when I scored in the match against Ecuador,” was the message.
