Jesse Marsch, leading candidate to take over as USMNT coach
Despite being linked with a number of Premier League clubs, it appears that the 49-year-old coach will take over the USMNT.
Jesse Marsch is being tipped as the leading candidate to take over as coach of the United States men’s national team despite his name also being recently linked with a series of clubs in the Premier League.
Current interim manager Anthony Hudson is apparently on the ‘wanted list’ of both the Football Association of Oman and also Iran but at least in the short term is expected to stay on as USMNT coach and oversee the forthcoming Nations League campaign in June.
Since leaving Leeds United, Marsch is anxious to return to management and although he was linked with staying in the Premier League clubs, everything seems to indicate that his destiny will be with the United States.
US Soccer have not indicated if they want the new incumbent in position for the 2023 Gold Cup which takes place over July-August this summer or be in place for the build-up to the 2026 World Cup.
