Juan Brunetta on joining Tigres: “They were the first to contact me, the rest were rumors”

Juan Brunetta has joined Tigres for the Clausura 2024 and has made it clear that there was no other offer for him other than the one presented by his new club. The Argentinian was reportedly wanted by clubs such as Rayados, Cruz Azul and América, however, he says it was only rumors.

“It was Tigres who first called me, and when they contacted me I didn’t hesitate for a second. It’s a winning team, and an incredible squad. I’m happy and it’s a dream to come to a team like this and to play with players with incredible careers and who have won so much. It’s a very nice challenge,” he said.

He added: “I come to add wherever I can, with players who compete to the maximum. I spoke to Gorri and beyond that we have a friendship. Since the rumor, he wrote to me and we talked a bit. He explained to me what the club is, the history of Tigres, what they compete for and the quality of the people in the squad.”

Four-year deal with Tigres

Brunetta arrived at around 9.00 am, undergoing a medical at the Christus Muguerza facilities, and then completed his final tests before signing a four-year deal. For the time being, he will have a few days of rest to adapt to the city and return on January 3 to join his new team-mates for the start of preseason.
