Tigres have shaken up the transfer market in the Liga MX ahead of the Clausura 2024 by officially announcing the signing of Juan Brunetta. The bombshell transfer was confirmed through the club’s social media platformas, in a message welcoming the Argentinean on board as their first reinforcement for the new tournament.

Earlier, Santos Laguna had said farewell to Brunetta - their best player during the Apertura 2023 with 10 goals and 11 assists. He joined Santos on loan 18 months ago and in February this year, the club bought him outright from Codoy Cruz. Brunetta leaves as one of the big stars that Santos have made a significant profit from by selling on throughout their history.

Brunetta is expected to arrive at the Sultana del Norte on Thursday morning, where he will immediately undergo a series of medical examinations before signing a four-year contract with the royals.

Sources close to the operation informed AS México that Raymundo Fulgencio is set to join Atlas with Vladimir Loroña moving to Santos as part of the negotiations with Grupo Orlegui.

Grateful to Santos

In a video message, Brunetta thanked Santos for his time at the club: “I’m very grateful to Santos because they gave me the kind of consistency I have never had anywhere else during my career and with it, emotional stability… Now I have to leave as another club has paid my buy-out fee so the moment has arrived for me to take on a new challenge. I’d like to thank the fans, who always supported us - both in the good times and when we needed them the most. I wish the club the very best from now onwards, they deserve it”.
