Winger Agustín Urzi is set to leave Juárez and will spend the remainder of 2024 on loan at Racing Club Avellaneda. The Argentine club has finalized an agreement with the Bravos for a 12-month free transfer which includes a purchase option for $1.8 million to acquire 70% of the player’s rights.

Urzi joined Juárez from Banfield almost exactly one year ago on a $3.7 million deal. His contract is valid until 31 December 2025. The 23-year-old striker has had limited playing opportunities during the last six months, and failed to secure a starting slot. In total, he has participated in 14 games in various competitions, starting in only three of them and scoring one goal. In total, he has accumulated a total of 929 minutes of playing time.

The player’s agent Maximiliano Gallo told DirecTV sports Radio.“Agustín is due to arrive in Argentina on Thursday night/Friday morning. He sacrificed a significant part of his salary to play for Racing and fulfill his dream. He and his entire family are passionate followers of the club. Although Agustín is a Argentina international player who may not have fully adapted in Mexico, we have great faith in him. He will defend the Racing shirt with his heart and soul”.

Urzi aroused interest from top clubs back home in Argentina including Boca Juniors and River Plate along with a number of European teams in recent transfer windows. This time however, he has chosen to join La Academia - the team he has supported since he was a young child.

He becomes the 10th new recruit at La Academia, following recent arrivals: Adrián Martínez, Maximiliano Salas, Santiago Solari, Facundo Cambeses, Santiago Sosa, Bruno Zuculini, Germán Conti, Valentin Gelos and Agustín García Basso.
