Kevin Álvarez arrived in América as an important reinforcement for the team’s aspirations for the Apertura 2023, and, as yet, is the only official signing that the club has presented.

Álvarez all set for América challenge

The new defender arrived in Coapa on Wednesday June 14 and, in an interview for the Futbol Club program, on TUDN, revealed his intentions for Liga MX and what he wants to capture with the capital squad.

A new challenge and the importance of this club in Mexican soccer, being able to leave my mark here as well,” he explained.

Similarly, the former player of Tuzos del Pachuca emphasized the significance of the Águilas throughout the country and the imperative to strive for the championship title in every tournament, regardless of the circumstances.

“It serves as motivation to overturn the supposed pressure on us to win the championship. This is a highly demanding club with talented players, and we have the potential to accomplish it,” he said.

Álvarez also recognizes that wearing this badge provides a greater platform for him and acknowledges the immense opportunities that can come his way by donning the jersey of the most successful institution in Mexican soccer.

“It serves as a platform to take the next step. There is always pressure in football, but here it is even more intense. All that remains is to adapt and ensure that everything goes smoothly.”

Originally from Colima, Mexico, the player departed from the Hidalgo squad, where he had been a member since 2019. However, his career was fully nurtured there, as he joined the Pachuca youth academy in 2015. In addition to his extensive tenure with the Albiazul squad, Álvarez still had a valid contract in place until June 2026.
