The Costa Rica international underwent treatment and tests earlier this week and on Wednesday received the green light to return to training.

Keylor Navas is under contract until 2024 with Paris Saint-Germain, but he doesn’t want to stay with the Ligue 1 side knowing he will have a secondary role this campaign. The Costa Rica international has been linked with a move to Napoli and replace David Ospina, who left earlier this summer, but a back injury was hindering his move to the Serie A side.

Navas underwent treatment and tests earlier this week and received the green light to join the rest of the team in training on Wednesday morning. This has reactivated the negotiations between PSG and Napoli for Keylor Navas and Fabián Ruíz and a deal could be reached in the upcoming days.

Ruíz refused to sign a contract extension with Napoli and he has been frozen out of the team since then. The Spanish player has a year left in his contract at Stadio Maradona and he was linked with a move to Real Madrid when he became a free agent next season. Now, his only options are staying in Naples and seeing no playing time or joining PSG.

Navas close to joining the Serie A side

Napoli had stalled the negotiations with the Ligue 1 side because of Navas back injury. The Serie A side was considering alternatives to the Costa Rica international and they were moving towards signing Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
